About the colour: Betzy blue
Like the paintings of many female artists of her time, those of Betzy Akersloot-Berg (Norway, 1850 – Vlieland, 1922) are not nearly as well-known as they would deserve. The seascapes of the artist are simply phenomenal. She made more than 300 works. Most are in the collection of Museum Tromp's Huys on Vlieland. But the National Art Museum in Oslo, the National Museum in Stockholm and the Frans Hals Museum in Haarlem also own work by Akersloot-Berg. We chose a sea blue tint from her palette to honor her on our posters and cards.
